In recent years, Yunlin County's agriculture has been confronted with a shortage of labor and an aging population. In an effort to revitalize its agricultural sector, the Yunlin County Government has made significant investments in promoting the adoption of advanced agricultural technologies. The annual farm machinery exhibition plays a crucial role in this endeavor by showcasing the latest innovations and connecting farmers with leading agricultural equipment suppliers. By fostering a thriving agricultural machinery industry, the exhibition helps to create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen the local agricultural supply chain.

Since 2006, the farm machinery exhibition has been held annually at Douliu Baseball Stadium, marking its 17th consecutive year in 2023. The exhibition showcases a wide range of cutting-edge agricultural machinery, including newly developed equipment, specialized tools, agricultural materials, and local agricultural products. In its inaugural year, the exhibition attracted 53 exhibitors and 133 booths, featuring the latestresearch and development prototypes from universities, colleges, and the Council of Agriculture's trial and improvement stations. Over the years, the exhibition has grown exponentially, with over 450 exhibitors and 1,200 booths in 2021, showcasing the latest domestic and imported agricultural machinery, greenhouse facilities, agricultural materials, cold chain equipment, safety certification zones, and agricultural products. This remarkable growth reflects the rapid advancement of Taiwan's agricultural machinery industry and highlights the significant impact of the exhibition on the agricultural sector.

Building upon 17 years of successful domestic exhibitions, the Yunlin International Agriculture Machinery Exhibition has evolved into a premier international event. Aligned with the New Southbound Policy, the show aims to propel Taiwan's agricultural machinery industry onto the global stage, fostering innovation, increasing production capacity, and expanding market share. The exhibition attracts participants from Europe, Africa, Japan, Korea, China, and Southeast Asia, and collaborates with domestic academic institutions and research organizations to enrich the event's content.

The 15th edition in 2020 drew a record-breaking crowd of 522,000 visitors, generating over NT$580 million in on-site sales. In 2022, the exhibition continued its growth trajectory with nearly NT$600 million in on-site transactions. The increasing number of exhibitors and visitors each year is a testament to the exhibition's success.

四、With the county government's strong support and increasing farmers' demand for agricultural machinery, the agricultural machinery subsidy policy, combined with the machinery exhibition, effectively addresses the aging and shortage of agricultural labor. This has significantly improved work efficiency and expanded economic benefits, promoting the adoption of mechanized, automated, and labor-saving production methods, thereby enhancing the market competitiveness and added value of agricultural products.
